The Saint Clair and Western Railroad started via 1870 charter as the Michigan Midland Rail Road, with a reorganization in 1872 as the Michigan Midland and Canada Railroad. Running from Saint Clair westward to Richmond (formerly named Lenox), the line was completed prior 1875, and eventually sold at foreclosure in 1906 to the Saint Clair and Western (a joint subsidiary between the Canada Southern Railroad and the Michigan Central Railroad, itself under the New York Central Railroad).
Abandonment of the line came in 1932. Today the Fred W. Moore Highway occupies the right-of-way.
