This short branch line was built by the Moshassuck Valley Railroad in 1876, and ran from a connection with the Boston and Providence Railroad in Woodlawn to the small town of Saylesville. (Both Woodlawn and Saylesville are now suburbs of Pawtucket.) The line was purchased by the Providence and Worcester Railroad (owners of the B&P) outright in 1981.
